Come and see, hear and enjoy a full evening of accomplished anthems and greatest hits, from the early classics such as “I Know What I Like” and “Trick Of The Tail”, the breakthrough years with “Follow You, Follow Me” and “Turn It On Again”, to the commercial successes of “Mama”, “Land of Confusion” and so many more. November 28th – Ffli Friday Black Water Chemistry + Tradish + Witness To Reform

: November 13, 2014 5:39 pm : Events, Update

Black Water Chemistry
Black Water Chemistry was born out of the demise of Newport band “The Delightful Lifeless” and the musical bond forged between Matt and Dan during their time in that band. Adding formidable bassist Gareth Stacey to the lineup they now play a brand of fast metallic grunge that sounds grown up whilst staying true to their roots.

Black Water Chemistry combine a grown up appreciation of heavy driving music and a youthful exuberance that they hope will be pretty damn addictive to audiences.

Fans of grunge and heavy music take note, BWC are just getting warmed up.

Forged in the haze of the valley of the crows, the mighty riffs of Tradish were born. Three local peasants discovered the wizards within them and converged onto the sacred ground known as Mirage. With a large helping of long bottom leaf these players of the dark arts submerged themselves into the abyss and conjured up mystical melodies like the rock gods of old.

Witness to the Reform
WTTR in its present incarnation have been beating out tunes since January 2014. Originally formed in 2009, the Newbridge trio concentrated on original material with a dark edge, respectfully tipping a cap to “prog” but staying somewhat this side of a classic alternative rock sound the song writing quickly grew, culminating in 3 E.P’s .

Following the departure of the original drummer in December 2013, new blood behind the tubs seemed to inject a new life into the song writing and playing. A “double A side” single recorded at The Boneyard studios in Neath and released in the summer of 2014 has given the band new recognition and a growing fan base.
With influences from NOFX to The Who, Rainbow to Muse, Maiden to Marillion, there’s a fusion of sounds that you can never dwell on as, before you know it, it changes to something else. New songs never seem to follow the last and new sounds always seem to emerge. BUt one things for sure, 110% goes into every song written and performed live.

“we’re not going to be the next Muse or Manics, we’re not going to make millions and live in a mansion with a swimming pool full of vodka, but we enjoy what we do, and that’s what making music is all about. If it lasts another 5 years or 5 months, I can listen back to our stuff and say – I did that”

October 18th – The Shamones (A Tribute To The Ramones.)

: September 30, 2014 12:40 pm : Events, Update

The Shamones

The Shamones
Formed in late 2010 when Andy Johnson coaxed Bryn Merrick (former Damned bassist) out of musical retirement. Dave Johnson was soon recruited on drums and The Shamones were born. The band have been perfecting the classic Ramones sound since and are fast becoming recognised as the best tribute around to the New York punk heroes. The Shamones played at Tribfest, Europe’s biggest and best tribute band festival (www.tribfest.co.uk) in 2011 & 2012 and featured in the review of 2012’s event in the NME. Friday August 16th 2013 will see the band make their third apearance at this amazing festival.
A busy 2012 saw The Shamones contribute two tracks to the “Ramone To The Bone” tribute album and play shows in Birmingham, Cardiff, Barry, Carmarthen, Romford, Ipswich, Wolverhampton, Scunthorpe and Cannock as well as playing the famous Boston Arms in Camden. 2013 has seen the band add more songs to the set (43 in total at the last count!) and continue to gig around the country to great acclaim. More gigs are being added all the time including Garden Glasto in Leicester on June 1st and an appearance at the Alice In Wonderland club mystery tour show in October alongside Zodiac Mindwarp & Dr & The Medics. Keep checking the page and the website for updates. Gabba Gabba Hey!

October 17th = Misled Truth + The liminal + T.B.C.

: September 30, 2014 12:35 pm : Events, Update

Misled Truth

Misled Truth
Created in a secret underground lab by a shadowy government organisation that didn’t officially exist, the members of Misled Truth quickly engineered an explosive escape and set about using their genetically-engineered powers for good instead of evil. Something like that anyway, the details are hazy and indistinct.

October 3rd – Ffli Friday With Last Vendetta + Ten Plus One + Elite Days

: September 30, 2014 11:54 am : Events, Update

Last Vendetta

Heavier than Pop-Punk and just as at home on a playlist with Tonight Alive and A Day to Remember, Last Vendetta are a band of opposites; often heavy and raw but always catchy and melodic, tugging on heartstrings with their tongues firmly in cheek. They effortlessly capture a nostalgic early noughties sound infused with their own unique, visceral style.

While Last Vendetta are new for 2014, their sound is the culmination of a musical friendship stretching back years. Having recently joined forced with independent label The Animal Farm, Last Vendetta are due to release there debut EP worldwide towards the end of the year.

TENPLUSONE are a 3 piece melodic punk rock band from South Wales.

We all have varying musical influences which do intersect quite a lot, and ultimately this gives us our sound.

Crunchy riffs, melodic choruses, heavy bass lines and hard hitting drums.

Elite Days

Elite Days are a four piece pop-punk band formed in 2011, hailing from Cardiff, South Wales.

“Pop-punk seems to be enjoying quite the rejuvenation in Wales at present with the likes of Straight Lines and the Blackout coming to prominence of late, and Elite Days could quite easily sit up and ride the crest of the wave created by their fellow countrymen.” (The MMP – the definitive guide to music in Wales)

Sadly, we had to say goodbye to one of our founding members in 2013. However with the new edition of guitarist Greg Burke, a rejuvenated Elite Days are back and ready for action. Armed with custom made ‘Elite Days’ guitar picks, Elite Days have a lot in-store for 2014.

The second release from Elite Days entitled ‘Heads Down For Take Off’ “offers massive nods to the pop-punk sound perpetrated by their cross-Atlantic peers New Found Glory and Blink 182.”
